Holy Matrimony

“For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate.” (Matthew 19:5)

The Sacrament of Matrimony is a sacred bond, or covenant, between a man and a woman that pledges them to be faithful lifelong spouses, loving and caring for each other and lovingly raising and guiding the children they bring into the world.

Through the sacrament of Matrimony, the couple is given the graces they need to be true to their covenantal pledge.
